This is a great textbook that our teachers call the 'Bible.' The authors first discuss the soul of a semiconductor -- silicon, its physical and chemical properties. The authors also talk about basic electronic circuits, such as Thevenin's and Norton's Equations, and microelectronic devices, such as diodes and transistors. The text is easy to understand for beginners of microelectronics.Later on in the text the authors spend several chapters on Integrated Circuits(IC); they explain in detail the fundamental relationship between logic circuits and microelectronic circuits. They also apply concepts of logic to logic circuits, and in the process take the readers into the world of microelectronics.It is a pity, however, that this book does not talk about microelectronic devices such as light emitted diodes(LED), and logic circuit applications such as seven-segment displays. But this is the most widely used textbook in our school, and it is most popular amongst our teachers.
